Stacy Carolan is from Loveland, IA (population: 40 or so). He received his bachelors degree in Music Performance from the University of Minnesota Duluth (studying under Dr. Thomas Pfotenhauer), and his masters degree in Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY (studying under James Thompson).
Mr. Carolan is a faculty member of the Hochstein School of Music and Dance, Rochester, NY, where he teaches trumpet. He is an applied instructor of music at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY, where he teaches trumpet and brass methods. And he teaches trumpet and brass at American Music Centre in Greece, NY. He is a current member of the Plymouth Brass Quintet, was one of the founding members of the Bonzai Brass Quintet, and maintains an active freelance schedule in and around the Rochester area.
He has been a professional musician and performer in one capacity or another since 2000. In addition to being a trumpeter, teacher, singer, and humorist, he has also been a copywriter, vocal percussionist, blackjack/poker dealer, knife salesman, sketch comedy writer, actor, voice over artist, arranger, film director/editor, juggler, road manager, busker, handbell ringer, locksmith, jingle writer, sports mascot, library assistant, and roofer. No matter what he does, he believes that focus and attitude are the keys to success in any endeavor, and attempts to incorporate that philosophy into his playing, his teaching, and his everyday life.
Stacy currently resides in Rochester, NY, with his wife, Lauren, and their absolutely hilarious son, Liam.
